In April 2002, a Bible Study Group was born. A group of 24 people, composed of 8 families started to meet at the Bernardino-Cristobal Residence in Lanzones Street, Manuela IV-B, Las Pinas City. The attendance expanded to the Bernabe Compound Ladies and Kids who labeled the weekly Saturday Fellowship as “Kasiyahan”. It was a correct label, as the fellowship embodies singing worship songs, listening to words of encouragement, prayer fellowship and a lot of eating – God’s Words as well as mouth watering food.
Soon, the students of Las Pinas East High School joined the fellowship that attendance reached almost 60 a week. It was time to go out. The weather was no longer cooperating with outdoor fellowship. The space has also become limited to carry out more activities. In September 2002, Heart of Worship has become a full pledged Christian Ministry. A Board of Elders was convened and Pastor Felipe S. Bernardino was ordained as the Senior Pastor.
Heart of Worship first external home was at a 3 storey unit at CV Starr Building along Philam Road. Again the membership grew and after 18 months, it was time to move again to a new home at Acme Building along Las Pinas Zapote Road. Once the Lord’s pillar of Cloud and Fire moves, we can see that we will move in another bigger residence.
Heart of Worship holds Worship Service meets every Sunday at 10:30 a.m and for a Youth Service every 2 p.m. Tuesdays are dedicated to Discipleship Meeting. Wednesdays and Thursdays are for Bible Study Days, College group meeting and Worker’s Prayer Hour. Friday is a meeting for the Young Students. Saturdays are for feeding God’s Little Children. In between are practice days for the Music Ministry.
The Ministry Workers share a common love for the Young people. We believe that the Youth shall become prime movers in spreading Heart of Worship’s Mission: We exist to Love God, To Know Christ and Make Him Known
Please join us in carrying out this mission.
WE BELIEVE in the great doctrines of the Holy Scriptures and of the Biblical faith.
I. THE BIBLE
We believe that the Holy Scriptures (66 books), consisting of the Old (39 books) and New (27 books) Testaments, are verbally inspired and without error in their original writing.
We believe that the writers of the Bible wrote them under the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
We believe that the Bible is the revealed and inherent word of God and is therefore our only authority in matters of faith and conduct.
- 1 Corinthians 2:13
- 2 Timothy 3:16
- 2 Peter 1:2
- Acts 1:16; 28:25
- Luke 24:27, 44
- John 5:3
II. GOD
We believe in one God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe not only the complete oneness of God but also the equally complete distinctiveness of three persons who make up the Godhead.
- Deuteronomy 6:4
- John 10:30
- Matthew 3:13-17
- 2 Corinthians 13:14
- Genesis 1:26
- Matthew 28:19
We believe in God’s natural attributes; that He is eternal, unchanging, omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient. We believe in God’s moral qualities; that He is holy, righteous, merciful, faithful and loving.
- 1 Timothy 1:17
- James 1:17
- Jeremiah 32:27
- Psalm 139:7-8
- 1 Chronicles 28:9
- 1 Peter 1:16
- Psalm 145:17
- Deuteronomy 4:31
- John 16:27
- 1 Corinthians 1:9
We believe that God created the heavens and the earth and everything in it, that He created a host of spiritual and sinless beings called angels. Some of them fell into sin and under the leadership of Satan, now opposes God and His children. The rest retained their sinless status and are ministering as servants
of God.
- Genesis 1:1-22
- Isaiah 14:12-17
- Ezekiel 28:11-19
- Luke 15:10
- 2 Corinthians 4:3-4; 11:13-15
- Ephesians 6:10-12
- 2 Peter 2:4
- Jude 6
III. JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ, who is God from eternity, was sent by the Father, begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and thus, is completely God and completely man.
We also believe that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of mankind and that He rose bodily from the grave to provide the only means by which sinful men can be reconciled with God.
We further believe in Christ’s present work for believers, as High Priest Advocate in Heaven, and in the "blessed hope" of His second coming (personal and bodily return) to receive believers unto Himself and establish His millennial kingdom on earth.
- John 1:1; 14
- Matthew 1:23-25
- Luke 1:30-35
- John 20:28
- 2 Corinthians 5:14-15
IV. THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe that the Holy Spirit is God who indwells all the true believers and accomplishes regeneration in the life of those believing in Christ.
We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts men of sin, sanctifies the believers, and empowers them to overcome the present power of sin and to witness for Christ.
We further believe that the Holy Spirit leads a sinner to repentance and acceptance of Christ as personal Lord and Savior.
- 1 Corinthians 3:16
- John 16:4
- John 16:8-19
- 2 Thessalonians 2:13
- Acts 1:8
- John 16:1
V. MAN
We believe that God created Adam as a sinless being, but because of the latter’s transgression, he fell from his original state of innocence. Consequently, the descendants of Adam are born in sin an are subject to death and judgement apart from God’s grace.
We believe that all mankind sinned and fell short of the glory of God; hence, condemned to an eternal existence separate from God.
- Genesis 1:26-27; 2:17; 3:6; 6:6
- John 3:3-36
- Romans 3:23; 6:23; 8:6-7
- Ephesians 2:1-3
VI. SALVATION
We believe that men can be saved from sin and come into possession of eternal life by through repentance and by believing in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and sin-bearer. Salvation is by grace through faith alone in Christ alone and is entirely a free gift of God. Man’s only hope of salvation is through personal faith in Christ and cannot possibly be achieved by good works.
We believe that God’s act of redemption in human history is vicarious and complete. Consequently, salvation is God’s work alone from beginning to end.
- John 3:16-18
- John 1:2
- Ephesians 2:8-9
- Ephesians 1:7
- Romans 1:16-17
- Acts 15:11
- Acts 16:3
VII. THE CHURCH
We believe in the spiritual unity of all true believers and that they are members of the Church (universal and invisible), which is Christ’s body and of which He is the head.
We also believe in the local church, which is the visible fellowship of redeemed people who meet for regular worship, mutual edification, and for the celebration of the Lord’s Supper and Water Baptism.
We further believe that the Universal Invisible church is the institution commissioned by the Lord Jesus Christ to preach the gospel of Christ and make disciples of all nations and that all Christians are called and commissioned by the Lord to live to the glory of God and to win others to Christ.
- Romans 12:3-8
- Acts 2:42-47
- 1 Corinthians 12:13-27
- 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
- Ephesians 1:22-23
- Matthew 28:18-20
- Ephesians 2:13-22
- Acts 1:8
