SECURITY OR SABOTAGE

(How Emotional Insecurity Prevents

Effective Leadership)

One of the greatest tragedies of church life surrounds the insecurities of her leaders. Leadership disasters happen every week, while pastors pretend the problem has to do with theology or programs.

The fact of the matter is, the reason for many of unresolved problems whithin a church is the emotional insecurity of the pastor.

Spotting Insecurity in Your Behavior...
1. - You begin to compare yourself to others.

2. - You feel like a victim, and must compensate for your inferiority.
3. - You drift into self-centered patterns, trying to ou-perform others

4. - You are driven to gain others' approval; you are a people-pleaser.

5. - The judgemental attitude of yourself or others.

6. - In order to validate your own worth, you feel you must take charge.

STEPPING INTO THE TRUTH

A. Determine the trigger event that fostered the lie/bondage.

B. Discover the lie you have believed about the situation.

C. Decide what response is truthful, appropriate and realistic.

TIPS AND TRUTHS

1. We must never put our emotional health in the hands of someone else.

2. The truth is a requirement for spiritual and emotional health.

3. Most of our unhappiness and insecurity is the result of lies we believe.

4. Recognize that you will believe what you want to believe.

5. The truth can be eclipsed by a thrilling lie.

6. Remember that hurting people naturally hurt people; intimidated people intimidate.

Keys to Emotional Security

1. IDENTITY - You must tie your self worth to your identity in Christ, not people and performance.

2. BROKENNESS - You must allow God to break you of self-sufficiency and self-promotion.

3. PURPOSE - You must discover and practice your God-given purpose in life, not someone else's.

4. GIVING and RECEIVING "THE BLESSING" - You must learn to let others love and bless you, and do the same for them.

WHAT TO DO

1. Study and meditate on the scriptures.

2. Check yourself each time you compare oyurself to someone.

3. Focus your attention on your strength for a reason

4. Read and listen to motivational material.

5. Identify the two or three most common lies you believe about yourself

6. Find someone who is safe to be a support person

7. Watch for vulnerable situations.

8. Remind yourself of the truth.

ATTENTION TIRED CHRISTIANS! Ever felt sad when consciously there’s nothing to be sad about? Ever been in those weeks wherein your adreline secreting glands seems to be slacking off? Months when 50% of your paycheck was spent on energy drinks? As Christians, we identify that feeling as spiritual hunger. Times when empty spaces make its way to your so called Spirit filled life. You tried to send a text for revival but it keeps on saying check operator services. FEAR NOT. Plot your schedules in advance. Mark every single Tuesday left in your calendar this year. Make sure you avoid the rush hour traffic at 5:30pm.

Heart of Worship family offers you an hour and half time to be refreshed, energized and to RELOAD! Stop being contented with Sunday preaching which is always adjusted for a possible unbeliever audience. It’s time for you to hear God’s word in its fullness. No adjustment. Especially made for a longing Christian’s ear. Stop repressing that spiritual need! It exists to be fulfilled!

We invite you to attend every Tuesday at 7:30 - 9:00pm.

YOUTH DISCIPLIC PENTA NETWORK (DN5)

Heart of Worship youth ministry “ACTS” which stands for “Active Christian Taking a Stand” believes in the power of focus. Dn5 is the cell group method that HOW youth uses to train and disciple teenagers and young adults into becoming like Christ.

Dn5 Groups are True Colors, Connect, Ablaze, Gleeks for Christ, Glaring Caring Girls(GCG), D' Encouragers and Revived. Each group are led by Marife Delos Santos, Johans Bill Marva, Aubrey Gapasin, Abigail Bernardino,  Dean Anthony Bantegui, Gilbert Deleon and Jyryx Nama respectively,

New comers are assigned to a Dn5 leader who will assist the new soul in his/her spiritual growth. Each Network are by then observe and given a title base on the diligence that is shown.

First time attendees and others not specified are categorized as “friends”(friendship). For friendship, HOW youth's task is to make them feel welcome and special in a way that they will be encourage to come back and hear about the Lord Jesus more.

From “friends”, Dn5 leaders will attempt to deepen the relationship into making them “kins”(Kinship). Kins, oppose to friends who are just encourage to attend, are given specific chances to do something for the ministry.  They are taught to value commitment and encourage to have a personal time in studying the word of God.

From “kins”, “Partners”' will be chosen. Partnership is a deeper level, wherein Dn5 leaders will try to train them into becoming a leader themselves. Upon countless time of fellowship and discipleship the successful partner will be promoted to have his/her own group.

The process then will begin again with the new leader training and discipling new “friends” for God's glory.
